Sanwo-Olu, Jandor show unity in recent appearances

The recent spate of joint appearances by the leader of the Lagos4Lagos movement, Olajide Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, and Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has sent a signal in the state’s political atmosphere.

The duo has been spotted together at various events, including the commissioning of the state-of-the-art Babajide Sanwo-Olu Library Complex at the Lagos State University and a road project in Ekiti State.

This closeness has been welcomed by many, who see it as a boost to Jandor’s image as a key player in Lagos politics.

By aligning himself with the governor, Jandor is likely to benefit from the positive optics of their partnership.

The association with Sanwo-Olu, who is known for his progressive policies and effective governance, could enhance Jandor’s reputation as a forward-thinking leader.

At the library commissioning ceremony, Jandor commended Governor Sanwo-Olu’s commitment to education, describing it as a milestone achievement.

He also commended the governor’s development initiatives, further solidifying their growing bond.

The event showcased the governor’s commitment to improving the educational sector in Lagos State, and Jandor’s presence underscored his support for the governor’s efforts.

The growing synergy between Jandor and Sanwo-Olu has sparked speculation about potential future collaborations and their implications for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State.

The development has been seen as a strategic move by Jandor to strengthen his position within the party and position himself for future leadership roles.

Jandor’s influence within the APC in Lagos State has increased significantly, enabling him to play a more significant role in shaping the party’s agenda in the state.

As the political landscape in Lagos State continues to evolve, the Jandor-Sanwo-Olu partnership is likely to be closely watched by observers and stakeholders alike.

Jandor lost the 2023 governorship election in Lagos to incumbent Governor Sanwo-Olu. He had contested the election on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). However, months after the election, he dumped the PDP and announced his return to the APC.

The former PDP man has since been positively vocal about President Bola Tinubu’s leadership, describing it as “progressive and visionary”.

“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has proven his capacity to lead this country with vision and courage.

“I call on Lagosians and Nigerians at large to ensure he gets a second term in 2027 so we can all continue to benefit from his progressive leadership,” he stated.

He has, in recent time,s hinted at plans to contest the position of Lagos State Governor again.
