The Imo State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal, convened in Abuja, has decisively upheld Hope Uzodimma’s position as the Governor of Imo State.

In a unanimous verdict delivered by Justice Oluyemi Akintan-Osadebay’s three-member panel, the tribunal affirmed that Uzodimma’s election as the state governor adhered to the stipulations of the Electoral Act.

The tribunal equally held that the petitioner failed to prove their allegations of over-voting and non-compliance to the Electoral Act as required.

Consequently, the tribunal dismissed the petition lodged by the Labour Party and its governorship candidate, Athan Achonu.
