Pomp, pageantry as DOAMF celebrates Children’s Day at Methodist Primary School Oshodi


Members of the Daniel Ogechi Akujobi Memorial Foundation (DOAMF) recently held its Children’s Day celebration with the pupils of Methodist Primary School Oshodi, Lagos.


The event was fun filled with different exciting games including spelling bee, brain teaser, current affairs, Mathematics, quiz competition and others.

The programme commenced with a brief opening prayer by a pupil of the school followed by the recitation of the National Anthem. The Head Teacher of the school, George James gave the welcome address.

Education programme officer, DOAMF, Ruth Nwachukwu, stated the objective of the programme was to celebrate with the children and support their learning opportunities bringing out the best in them through a festive atmosphere.

The pupils of Methodist Primary School presented cultural dance and chorography, which added colour to the programme.


Gift items such as mathematical sets, pencil cases, notebooks, food flasks and water bottles and nutritional items including biscuits and ice creams were distributed to the pupils and teachers.

The Foundation Health Officer, Esther Ogbu, expressed happiness with the programme, saying it impacted about five hundred and thirteen lives, including the pupils and teachers.

On her part, Nwachukwu also acknowledged the sponsors for their immense support such as Niger Biscuit, Beloxxi Biscuit Ltd, SACVIN Nig Ltd, CELPLAS Industries Ltd, Fan milk Plc, VIJU Industries Ltd and Infinity Snacks.
