Nigerian controversial singer, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has been named the Godfather of the Omotosho Single Mothers Association (OSMA).
Portable’s appointment was announced by the association on Saturday and has since generated social media buzz due to Portable’s past controversies.
The Omotosho Single Mothers Association (OSMA) is an association dedicated to supporting women raising children without a spouse or partner, often due to divorce, separation, or single parenthood.
Portable, married to Bewaji and father to children with three other women—actress Ashabi Simple, Honey Berry, and another unnamed woman—was bestowed with the title on June 1 at an event organised by the association.
In a video posted to his Instagram page, Portable is seen wearing a green cap and a white shirt, which match the attire of OSMA members. The video captured the moment he was named the OSMA Godfather.
The Single Mothers Association also claimed that it is an international organisation with chapters across the globe.
“We are in Canada, London, Australia, Dubai, Libya, Cairo (Egypt), and America, among other places.
“We are single mothers in the Omotosho chapter and appointed Omo Olalomi our godfather.
“We shall reap the fruit of our children, and none of our children shall be found wanting,” one of the OSMA members said in Yoruba.
An official identity card was issued with registration number 7275162 to Portable.
In a video posted to his social media, Portable declared himself a father figure to the children of single mothers.
His comments, which included references to witchcraft, have further fueled online discussions.
During the event, Portable, who referred to single mothers as “witches,” also declared himself a father figure to the children of single mothers.
He stated, “They have finally appointed me as Godfather of Single Mothers, and these are international. Let their faces show very well in the camera. Don’t you know that single mothers should be witches because of their children?
“Don’t you know that my mother is a witch? I’m the godfather of single mothers, which means I’m the father of the single mothers’ children.”
His appointment comes weeks after he was recently released on bail after being arrested for allegedly purchasing an N27 million G-Wagon without completing the payment.
