Probitas/B. Ayorinde, Aluko & Oyebode take early lead

WITH two wins apiece, the law firms of Probitas Partners/B. Ayorinde and Aluko & Oyebode lead groups A and B respectively of the on-going Bankole Olumide Aluko tournament, also known as Lawyers League, which enters week three this weekend.

Both teams have won their opening two games to stand with the maximum six points in the competition divided into two groups of seven teams each.

Leading Group A, Probitas Partners/B. Ayorinde has scored four goals and conceded one with a goals aggregate of +3. Olisa Agbakoba & Co has played only one game with a win, five goals for and one against to occupy the second position with three points and a goals difference of +4.

Tayo Oyetibo and Babalakin also have the same three points as Olisa Agbakoba, but they are on the third and fourth positions respectively because of their inferior goals aggregate. Babalakin, like  Olisa Agbakoba, has played only one game.

UUBO, Aelex and Olajide Oyewole occupy the fifth, sixth and seventh positions respectively.

Banwo & Ighodalo is second in Group B with the same six points from two games as the leaders, but they have an inferior goals difference of +3 to Aluko & Oyebode’s +5.

Ricky Tarfa, Tokunbo Orimobi, defending champions, Lagos State Ministry of Justice, Pinheiro & Co. and Advocaat are third, fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh respectively. Ricky Tarfa and Tokunbo Orimobi have three points each, while the rest are yet a point as they have lost all their games.

In the second week of the competition, Banwo & Ighodalo defeated Advocaat 2-0, Olisa Agbakoba spanked Olajide Oyewole 5-1, just as Ricky Tarfa beat Pinheiro 1-0.

Probitas/B. Ayorinde continued their impressive season with a 2-1 defeat of UUBO, Tokunbo Orimobi lost to Aluko & Oyebode 0-3, the same margin Tayo Oyetibo/Bayo Osipitan scored against AELEX.

The games continue this weekend at the AstroTurf 2000, Ikoyi, Lagos.
