PSN confers fellowship award on Amibor, 111 others

The Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN) has inaugurated its new President, Prof. Cyril Usifoh, in Abuja.
        
The Society equally conferred its prestigious fellowship awards on 112 deserving pharmacists, who have distinguished themselves in their various areas of practice as well as overall contributions to advancement of the profession in Nigeria. The fellowship award is the highest award of the society.  
       
Among the new fellows is Dr, Kingsley Chiedu Amibor, the immediate past National Chairman of the Association of Hospital and Administrative Pharmacists of Nigeria (AHAPN). He is currently a member of the National Executive Committee of the Society where he serves as an unofficial member.  
      
Amibor is a deputy director of Pharmaceutical Services at the Federal Medical Centre, Asaba, where he succeeded in reshaping the practice in collaboration with his colleagues, as a member of the Pharmacy Top Management Committee. 
     
Amibor is a strong advocate of pharmaceutical care, a paradigm shift in pharmacy practice that is patient-focused, for which he has earned several awards. Some of these awards include the Nigerian Association of Pharmacists in Academia (NAPA) Professional Excellence Award, Pfizer Excellence Award, Presidential Distinguished Service Award and many others. 
      
The clinical pharmacist is a Fellow of the West African Postgraduate College of Pharmacists and holds a master’s degree in public health, doctorate degree in pharmacy and several others. Amibor has served the Pharmacy Profession meritoriously in various capacities for over three decades.
      
Among dignitaries at the inauguration of the new president and investiture of fellows were the Minister of State for Health, Dr Olorunibe Mamora, the Minister of Works and Housing, Mr Babatunde Raji Fashola and the Minister of Mines and Steel, Mr Lekan Adegbite, among others.
