Dreams are to help us keep abreast of God’s plan and purpose for our lives. You are bound to succeed when you are on an assignment for God and some of these assignments come as revelations in dream.
To Promote God’s People
God could create a problem in the camp of His enemies through dream. His could happen if He shows them things beyond their understanding, while He sets apart a man with understanding whom He wants to be lifted by interpreting such dreams. By divine providence Pharaoh had a dream, but none of his magicians and seers could interpret it. Hence, the need for Joseph, and that was what led to the manifestation of Joseph’s dream. Pharaoh’s dream was all Joseph needed to be lifted.
“And it came to pass at the end of two full years that Pharaoh dreamed: and, behold, he stood by the river. And he slept and dreamed the second time: and, behold, seven ears of corn came up upon one stalk rank and good.
“And it came to pass in the morning that his spirit was troubled; and he sent and called for all the magicians of Egypt, and all the wise men thereof: and Pharaoh told them his dream;but there was none that could interpret them unto Pharaoh,” (Genesis 41:1, 5, 8). When the magicians and astrologers could not nterprete the dream, the servant of Pharaoh introduced Joseph to the scene.
“Then spake the chief butler unto Pharaoh, saying, I do remember my faults this day: then Pharaoh sent and called Joseph, and they brought him hastily out of the dungeon: and he shaved himself, and changed his raiment, and came in unto Pharaoh,” (Genesis 41:9, 14).
“And Joseph said unto Pharaoh, the dream of Pharaoh is one: God hath shewed Pharaoh what he is about to do,” Genesis 41:25.
Joseph interpreted the dream because it was given to him to do so and that lifted him.
“And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, forasmuch as God hath shewed thee all this, there is none so discreet and wise as thou art: thou shalt be over my house, and according unto thy word shall all my people be ruled: only in the throne will I be greater than thou,” (Genesis 41:39-40).
God could as well give dream to helpers of destiny to remind them about a kingdom son or daughter who is due for help and promotion. The benefits of dream cannot be over emphasised as identified above, most great men and women are people of dreams and have received help and direction through dream. Many have discovered treasures through dreams. Great leaders have traced their successes and rose in life through dreams. Many great preachers got their vision and motivation through dreams in the night.
Elias Howell, the inventor of sewing machine, got the idea through a dream. I am also aware that Albert Einstein was asked where his theory of relativity had originated, he attributed it to a dream he had as a youth. According to the story, he was riding in a sled, which started going faster and faster till it approached the speed of light. At that time, the stars broke into colours. He said he spent the rest of his life meditating on the dream.
Niels Bohr received a Noble Prize for his quantum theory, which he claims came from his dream. One of the heroes of the WWII, Genial George Patton, received an intuitive military guide from dream.
Robert Loose Stevenson wrote his book tittled, “The Strange Case Of Dr. Jeky11 and Mr. Hyde” from a dream. Demerit Mendelevium developed a periodic table of elements from one of his dreams. Friedrich, Kekule received insight for the structure of benzene from the image of a snake biting its tail in one of his dreams.
