…Receives $25,000 grant to develop Gyadi-Gyadi Primary Healthcare Clinic in Taurani, Kano, Nigeria

A community-based intervention dedicated to providing quality, low-cost primary healthcare in underserved low-income, urban communities, REACH (Reaching Everyone with Accessible Community Health) by EHA Clinics has been awarded a grant of $25,000 to support its operation of a new REACH Primary Healthcare Hub in Kano, Nigeria.

The primary healthcare hub, which will be supported by six health posts and community pharmacies aims to provide quality primary health care, childbirth and maternal services, homecare, telemedicine, and pharmacy services to the community.

The grant, provided by an anonymous donor, will enable REACH to further its mission and make a significant impact in the Gyadi-Gyadi, Taurani, Kano.

Since 2019, REACH has served over 7,000 families and is positioned to impact 20,000 families by 2024.

The new REACH primary healthcare hub will be supporting an average of 300 customers daily, with 100 people receiving in-person care while others through EHA Care -a digital health platform- will access virtual consultations.

Chief Operating Officer (COO) at EHA Clinics, Paul Hogan said: “We are thrilled to receive this generous grant from the donor who would prefer to be anonymous.” We are deeply grateful for the recognition of our work and the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of the residents of the Gyadi-Gyadi community.

We recognise and appreciate EHA Impact Ventures (EIV), that played a crucial role in facilitating this grant, and our local stakeholders such as the Kano Emirates Council Committee on Health, that ensured that our services were tailored to the unique needs and concerns of the Gyadi-Gyadi community.

Through their assistance, we secured a central location for our REACH Hub with access to public transportation and a well-developed road network, making it convenient for residents to reach us whenever necessary.”
