Rep writes Tinubu, seeks urgent support for Tantita

Following the arrest of two vessels in less than a month carrying stolen crude oil by Tantita Security Services Limited (TSSNL), the House of Representatives member representing Warri Federal Constituency, Thomas Ereyitomi, has written President Bola Tinubu, seeking improved support for Tantita.

In the letter, Ereyitomi reviewed the performance of TSSNL, a private security company hired by the Federal Government for surveillance of oil pipelines.

He regretted that since his earlier letter six months ago, the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has procrastinated the contract renewal of Tantita for six months, describing the development as unfair.

He made it known to President Bola Tinubu that Tantita “holds the revered position of primus inter pares among security firms engaged by the federal authorities to provide surveillance for pipelines in the Niger Delta, and that the company’s contract should be renewed to encourage its management for better performance.”

He said: “As you are aware, Mr. President, crude oil’s daily production has kept improving. It shows some people work day and night to ensure a turnaround, and those responsible for the feat, the government must encourage.”
