.Lauds NDDC for development in region

The Caretaker Committee Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State, Tony Okocha, has raised the alarm over insecurity, stagnation and other vices in the state.
Okocha explained that a perceived ‘fear of the unknown’ remains a security threat in the state, alleging that such is forcing some companies to leave the state.

He stated this, yesterday, while dismissing purported reports claiming that he (Okocha) congratulated Governor Siminalayi Fubara on his one year anniversary.

Okocha described the report as fake, saying that APC cannot congratulate a governor who has not franchised a project since he was sworn in.

Okocha said: “The Fubara’s achievements known to me is the fact that he has traversed the 23 local councils of Rivers State in what he described as, ‘Thanksgiving For Supreme Court Victory.’ That’s his own achievement, and it amounts to nothing other than profligacy and throwing away state funds.

“We are in trouble in Rivers State. It’s an era of horror, stagnation and other vices that anybody can think of.

“In other words, it is apt to say that we have relapsed to the days of primitive administrations in our political history. There is nothing to show, and I challenge the governor and his handlers to show just one proof of one project he commenced and completed in 365 days. The moment I see and hear that, I will immediately recant and publicly congratulate the governor.”

The  APC Caretaker Committee Chairman, urged the governor to emulate his counterparts in Abia, Cross Rivers, Enugu and others on their achievements.

This is as the National Vice Chairman, South-South Zone of APC, Victor Giadom, has frowned at self-seeking politicians who are sponsored to damage the image of people.

Giadom commended the governing board and management of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) over its achievements and recent commissioning of landmark projects in the Niger Delta region.

Giadom gave the commendation when he led some National Working Committee members of the party, including the National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, to pay a courtesy visit to the NDDC Executive Management Team at the Commission’s headquarters in Port Harcourt.

The National Vice Chairman urged the NDDC board and management to shun all distractions, especially from politicians, and continue to work in peace and harmony to bring sustainable development to the region.
