Rivers Assembly invites nine commissioner nominees for screening

Rivers State House of Assembly has invited nine commissioner nominees for screening and confirmation as members of the state executive council.

The Assembly, through its Clerk, Emeka Amadi, requested the nominees to come along with 40 sets of Curriculum Vitae (CV), both photocopies and originals of their credentials, on Wednesday, January 17.

Amadi, in a statement, said the nominees include Zacchaeus Adangor; Dr. Jacobson Mbina; Dr. Gift Worlu and Inime Chinwenwo-Aguma.

Others are Chukwuemeka Woke; Prof. Prince Chinedu Mmom; Dr. George-Kelly D. Alamo; Isaac Kamalu and Austin Ben Chioma.

Recall that all nine nominees previously served in Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s cabinet, but resigned in the heat of the political impasse between the governor and his predecessor, Nyesom Wike.

The Guardian learned that the move by the governor to reabsorb them into his cabinet after a possible successful screening is his way of showing commitment to last year’s Presidential Peace Proclamation.

However, sources from the governor feigned ignorance of the list when contacted. The sources could neither state categorically if the list emanated from the governor nor deny its source.

But there are indications that the government might not be aware of such a list making the rounds on social media.
