Rotary Club of Lagos Palmgrove Estate will start its major project “Eye Camp” targeting 1,500 beneficiaries, who will undergo free cataract surgery.

This humanitarian project is conducted in partnership with the Indo-Eye Care Foundation under the stewardship of Rotarian and renowned philanthropist, Naranbhai Patel.

The Club has staged this project since 2008, with more than 18,000 under-privileged cataract patients, who have been successfully treated and have regained their sight.

A full-fledged team of doctors and para-medical staff will be coming from India to conduct the surgeries, estimated at about N200,000, which is beyond the capacity of many of the beneficiaries.

The initial screening of patients starts on Saturday, April 18, while subsequent screening will hold April 25, May 1, 2, 9 and 16 at the Club’s office premises, No. 1, D’Alberto Road, Palmgrove Estate, Ilupeju, Lagos.

Final surgeries commences May 25 at General Hospitals at Marina, Lagos and Ijaiye, Abeokuta.

The Club invites all residents of Lagos and Abeokuta to benefit from this extra-ordinary humanitarian project.
