The new president of Rotary Club of FESTAC Town, Vincent Iwueze, has promised to make a difference during the Rotary year. He also assured that they would work assiduously towards achieving their goals.

Speaking during the exchange of baton, he said: “It is customary and it is usually a time we make resolution and take right steps towards achieving them. It is a year of hope, which we all have resolved to do our best to help create in the world. I want to particularly encourage each and everyone of us that we should live by examples. We can make our time, our talents, and our treasure available for the common good of our community.

“By serving as effectively and efficiently as we could, we can make our wok transparent and accountable. We would be able to do more if we increase our membership, where each one of us is able to introduce a member to the club. This will help us achieve Rotary Foundation’s goal of providing more funds to carry out our serve project and create hope in the world. It is the responsibility on us to build on the works of those who had served before us, and build a solid foundation for the year to come.”

He thanked the immediate past president, Placid Oluigbo and his team and indeed, all of the members of Rotary Club of FESTAC Town.

Oluigbo said: “It was a very successful year for me. In the area of developing the youths, we did a very wonderful job.

Our goal was to send five youths to Rotary Youth Leadership Academy. The high cost of registration this year prevented us from doing more. Before now, registration fee was N25,000 but it rose to N45,000. We chose to empower five but were five but were able to increase to seven. So, it is an area I give accolade to the club.”.
