HRH Oba Alayeluwa Saheed Ademola Elegushi, Kusenla III, the Oba of Elegushi in Lagos State, and his colleague, HRH Oba Abdulwasiu Omogbolahan Lawal, Abisogun II, the Oba of Oniru of Lagos, have commended King (Dr) Appolus Chu OFR, Oneh-eh Nchia X and Egbere Emere Okori of Eleme Kingdom, Rivers State, for his keen interest in restoring peace and unity in the nation and Africa.
This commendation came during a recent visit by the royal fathers to King Chu at his palace in Okori-Ogale, Eleme, Rivers State.
Upon their arrival, King Appolus Chu warmly welcomed the Obas and the atmosphere was filled with laughter and joy of brotherhood.
The visit of the Obas acknowledged King Appolus Chu’s efforts in building bridges of peace and unity across Nigeria and beyond. King Chu’s dedication towards advocating for peace and unity among traditional rulers has positioned the Eleme kingdom of Rivers State on the map of the world, garnering recognition and connectivity from all quarters indeed, this is not the first time Oba of Elegushi and others are paying a visit to King Chu’s palace and vice-versa.
The visit of these royal fathers to Eleme kingdom was a significant step towards strengthening the relationship between the West and the South-south towards national unity. Both the Oba of Elegushi and the Oba of Oniru eulogised King Chu for his philanthropism and peace advocacy, while also urging him to sustain the strides he has taken so far in his campaign of building bridges of peace and unity across the nation and the continent.
King Chu has travelled around kingdoms across Nigeria and Africa with the message that despite their cultural diversities, unity amongst traditional institutions will ensure a secure and economically vibrant nation and continent. He has all along expressed the belief that fostering the spirit of brotherhood amongst our traditional societies is a guarantee for the development of a united and peaceful country and continent.
The monarchs also spent time discussing prevailing national issues and how the traditional institution can help the government of the day to tackle these challenges and ameliorate the condition of Nigerians.
