RTEAN inaugurates Lagos branch new executives

Vows to rid parks of thugs

The Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN) has inaugurated new executives of its Lagos State branch who are to pilot the affairs of the union in the state for the next five years.

However, the intervention of the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, brought an amicable resolution of all issues in dispute. President of RTEAN, Musa Maitakobi, while addressing the new executives, charged them to desist from breaking the rules and order but to uphold professionalism while discharging their duties. He harped on the need for them to adopt peaceful ways of addressing issues in the association instead of resorting to protest or thuggery.

“I want all of you to know that it is our duty to eradicate hooliganism or thuggery in any motor park throughout the federation. But keep peace as that is the solution to achieve your aim.

He also charged the new Chairman of Lagos State branch of RTEAN, Oba Sulaiman Raji Adeshina, to resolve pending issues in the branch immediately.
Adeshina, in his acceptance speech, expressed happiness for being elected as the RTEAN chairman of Lagos State. He reiterated the importance of working as a team to have a rancour-free tenure and achieve the set goals and mandates.

“I pledge to do my best and carry RTEAN to a higher level. I plead with all members and executives to work together as one family,” he added.
