RTEAN state bosses back Maitakobi’s exco, to rid parks of thugs

Musa Muhammed Maitakobi

Chairman of the Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN) in the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) have thrown their weight behind the re-election of Musa Maitakobi as the president of the association.

The RTEAN chairmen converged on Abuja, yesterday, and unanimously passed confidence vote in Maitakobi and 45 other members of RTEAN National Executive Council (NEC).

Chairman of Kwara RTEAN, Abdurrahman Olanikijipa, who doubles as the National Principal Organising Secretary of RTEAN, disclosed this in a statement, yesterday.

Maitakobi, and 45 other NEC members of the association were unanimously re-elected for another tenure of five years during the 10th national delegates conference of the association in Abuja last week.

Olanikijipa said the RTEAN chairmen pledged total loyalty to Maitakobi’s leadership in his effort to reform the transport sector and tackle all forms of thuggery around motor parks.

His words: “The council is satisfied with the leadership style of Maitakobi. He embraces all and sundry irrespective of religion, ethnicity and gender. He recorded a lot of successes in the organisation.

“Maitakobi’s leadership in RTEAN has successfully launched RTEAN Marshall that contributed immensely to sanity in all its motor parks across the nation. He has also tackled transportation of illegal and harmful items in the parks. Recall that on August 18, 2022, RTEAN Marshall intercepted eight guns billed for delivery to Kano at Zuba Motor Park and immediately reported the matter to Zuba Police Station.”
