Sani chides police over continuous detention of #EndSARS protesters

Civil rights crusader and a member of the Eighth National Assembly, Senator Shehu Sani, has faulted police claim that there are no #EndSARS protesters held in custody.

Sani insisted that since 2020, many youths have been languishing in Lagos State correctional centres on the alleged order of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

The senator, in a Facebook post, yesterday, while accusing Lagos State governor of being responsible for the protesters’ detention, listed the victims to include Ogidi Joseph, Marcus Joseph, Joseph Oyebowale, Muyiwa Onikoyi, Taiwo Fagbemi, Jamiu Sani, Segun Adeniyi, Ibrahim Adesanya, Daniel Joyibo, Dare Williams, Sunday Ikorodu, Adigun Sadiq, Yusuf Rafiu, Shehu Anas and Yakubu Olayiwola.

Others, according to him, are Ismail Moftao, Bethel Chukwuocha, Onuora Odih, Jeremiah Lucky, Gideon Ikwujoma and Haruna Adekunjo.

It would be recalled that Sani, during the 25th Democracy Day celebration, appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to order the release of those still in captivity following the #EndSARS protest in Lagos.
