The General Secretary of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Mohammed Sanusi, on Saturday in Abuja said he was optimistic the Falconets would win their second leg match against South Africa.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the national under-20 women’s football team could only beat their South African counterparts 2-1 on Saturday at the Abuja National Stadium.

The game was the first leg match of their 2016 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Qualifiers’ Final Round fixture.

Sanusi however said the Nigerian team would play the second leg match in two week time in South Africa as if they did not win the first leg match.

“It is better that we have taken the maximum points here. What is next is for us to prepare and go to South Africa and win.

“They (Falconets) have tried their best and there is always room for improvement,’’ he said.

Sanusi said the few lapses noticed in the team would be addressed by the coaches before the second leg match.

“I believe in our coaches and I know they are going to do a good job with the team before their next game to ensure a win,’’ he said.
