Marriage can work, joyous, fulfilling, lasting, says ‎‎Raregems boss, Taiye Aluko

‎Despite the increasing rate of divorce in society, the founder of Raregems Coaching and Counselling, Taiye Aluko said marriage can work, be joyful, fulfilling, and lasting with appropriate commitment.

Aluko, who spoke at the sidelines of Hustle Africa’s bi-monthly PR Tea Conference in Ikeja, Lagos, noted that the Lagos-based organisation established in 2017 provides coaching and counselling services to support individuals and couples in building lasting relationships.
The company also offers both online and physical sessions, including programmes such as Pathway to Forever and specially designed workbooks for couples at different stages of marriage.

Aluko, a Professional Marriage coach and Emotional Intelligence Certified Professional, said the initiative was driven by her experience working in a church’s marriage counselling department, where she witnessed the increasing rate of broken marriages.

‎She said: ‎“I was mindful of the larger picture, which is that society is better off when the family unit is thriving. Families can only thrive when husband and wife have a wholesome relationship.”

Raregems combines coaching, counselling, and mentoring to equip couples with practical tools for resolving conflicts and building stronger intimacy.
‎Aluko added: ‎“I believe marriage was designed to work. So, every couple I work with leaves not only with hope, but with practical strategies tailored to them.”

‎The organisation also contributes through volunteer counselling at the Federal Marriage Registry in Ikoyi for couples preparing for marriage.
‎Raregems’ future plans include expanding into a regional hub for marriage education and establishing a Raregems Marriage Academy to train and certify marriage counsellors.

Aluko said: “What I want readers to remember most about my brand is this: marriage can work, and it can be joyful, fulfilling, and lasting. When couples are equipped with the right tools.”
