
The special guest of honour at ‘Kikida’ 2.0 Gospel Concert and Empowerment Programme, Dr. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, has commended Shade Oshoba over the concert held at The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Rose of Sharon Parish in Lagos.
In her speech, Sanwo-Olu, represented by the wife of the Chairman of Ojodu Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Taiwo Odumbaku, commended the originator of the concept for bringing hope to people through gospel music.
“This, to me, shows ingenuity on the part of the organiser, who seeks to address some societal issues using the power of soul lifting songs.
“I commend her passion for the restoration of hope through soul lifting songs. As a medical practitioner, I can attest to the potency of soul lifting music, not only for restoring hope, but also for the healing process of the sick.
“Music touches our emotions, spirit and it provides relief during very difficult period. Melody could be soul lifting, reminding us that we are not alone during our struggles. It has a unique ability to aspire, motivate and bring people together and foster sense of unity and hope,” she said.
The convener, Shade Oshoba, stated that ‘Kikida’ is all about absolute praise to God. “Life is full of challenges and one of the ways to put these challenges behind us and move forward is through music and absolute praise to God who helped in the past and still has the ability to help again.”
She added that she actually got inspiration through one of her dreams and became restless until the first edition was birthed when she celebrated her 40th birthday and 20 years as a professional music minister.
The special guests of honour at the event included, Mrs. Oluremi Hamzat, wife of the Deputy Governor of Lagos State, represented by Ms. Ibironke Dawodu; Mrs. Funmi Omotosho, wife of Lagos State Commissioner of Information and Strategy and President, Merit Toastmasters Club, Bishop Tunde Akintola; Pastor Joseph Adeyokunnu, the Intercontinental Financial Controller of the RCCG, and Pastor Bisi Olowoyo.
Others were Pastor Cyprian Orakpo; Pastor Jonathan Adebesin; Pastor Emeka and Pastor Mrs. Vivian Obiagwu; Pastor Faith Taiwo, Resident Pastor, When Women Pray, Ikorodu; Chairman Punch Newspapers, Mrs. Angela Emuwa; Veteran Nollywood actor, Lilian Amah and some other notable personalities.
About 30 talented women got shortlisted for empowerment with Mrs. Motunrayo Fasipe, a trained teacher-turned fragrance maker, whose husband abandoned her with three children after she lost her sight four years ago, got N.1m along with empowerment tools and trainings.
