Traditionally, October 1st is the day every Nigerian celebrates the nation’s gaining of full independence from Britain, and the occasion comes with its green and white elegant colours.
The two colours are from the nation’s Green-White-Green flag, with green representing natural wealth and white depicting peace and unity.
Interestingly, this year’s commemoration, which is the 62nd, falls on a weekend, hence the need to dress up for the occasion.
Yes, it is the national day for green and white but you do not necessarily have to go shopping for anything new if you do not have a budget for that. All you need is to look in your wardrobe for that green and white separate up and down, combine, and off you go elegantly.
So, whether it’s all-white attire with a green shoe, headgear, handbag, fashion glasses or a touch of the green pocket square fold on your attire, and vice versa, the result is independent elegance.
