The Ekiti State government, through the Bureau of Tourism Development, has launched the development of the state’s Tourism Masterplan, a strategic blueprint to transform the state into a thriving travel destination while also preserving Ekiti’s rich cultural heritage for generations to come.
The Tourism Masterplan, which is being developed through an inclusive, stakeholder-driven process, allowing businesses, residents, and industry experts to contribute their insights and ideas, will serve as a roadmap for sustainable tourism development, ensuring that Ekiti becomes a leading destination for culture, adventure, and economic growth.
Director-General of the Bureau of Tourism Development, Ambassador Wale Ojo-Lanre, said: “Tourism is not just about visitors; it is about Ekiti’s people. So, the Ekiti State Tourism Masterplan, which is a collective vision, means provision of jobs for the people, thriving businesses, and a heritage for the future generation.
This is why the Bureau of Tourism Development is inviting all Ekiti residents, business owners, and tourism stakeholders to participate in the masterplan development process. Community engagement sessions, online consultations, and strategic meetings will provide opportunities for everyone to contribute their ideas and shape the future of Ekiti tourism.”
Principal Advisor, Red Clay, Dr. Adun Okupe, said: “A great tourism strategy thrives on collaboration. By engaging with communities, entrepreneurs, and cultural custodians, we are ensuring that this plan reflects the true potential of Ekiti’s tourism industry.”
