One of Nigeria’s popular skit-makers, Clinton Monday Ovuakporaye, popularly known as Clintianoo, has disclosed that skit-making isn’t just about pushing out random videos on social media platforms. He stated that “it involves transforming ideas into something that will be acceptable to your fans.”

He made this statement at an event in Lagos during the week while reacting to the assertion that skit-makers need to inculcate morals into most of their content.

Clintianoo, who hails from Isoko, Delta State, but was born and raised in Lagos, emphasized that he doesn’t create just any kind of content.

“As for me, my content teaches morals. You can notice this if you are not entirely carried away by the way I dress or the comedic aspects of my skits,” he said.

Born on December 2, 2002, Clintianoo revealed that skit-making involves processes and steps, “similar to the planning required when building a house.”

“My inspiration comes from everyday activities, the people around me, and what is happening in our society,” he explained.

Speaking on religious-themed skits, he noted, “Religion is a sensitive matter in Nigeria, so I’m always careful about topics that my fans may find offensive. I consider my environment and how sensitive the inspiration is before shooting the videos.”

Clintianoo, who will be celebrating his 22nd birthday on December 2, 2024, attended Tendermate Nursery & Primary School, Jubilee Model Junior Grammar School, and Coker Senior Secondary School, all in Lagos. He shared that skit-making has allowed him to achieve several things he never thought possible.

With over 3 million followers on TikTok, most of his skits are dance videos “woven around storytelling in unique ways.”

Speaking on his future plans, the social media influencer shared that his long-term dream “is to inspire future generations and demonstrate that dreams can be achieved through dedication and authenticity.”

He began skit-making immediately after completing his secondary school leaving certificate in 2020 and has since collaborated with other social media sensations such as Peace Anpee, popularly known as Purple Speedy, and Nigeria’s crossdresser and social media influencer, James Obialor, known by his stage name WJ James Brown, among others.
