Scream’s Impressive Opening Topples Spider-Man: No Way Home

The horror film “Scream” has dethroned “Spider-Man: No way home” from the charts. “Spider-Man: No way home” was indomitable on the box office charts, but was forced to relinquish the throne to another latest “Scream” horror film.

“Scream” came soaring high on its release at an impressive total of $36 million now ruling the box office charts against “Spider-Man: No way home”‘s $26 million.

The film was released over the weekend of January 14-16 and debuted in 3,666 locations with a Rotten Tomatoes rate of the horror film at 75%. Critics have described the latest franchise as the smartest, funniest, and the stabbiest film since the 1996 original.

The film’s success represents some good news for the battered cinema industry, considering that the “screams” success comes amid a spike in Covid-19.

The original cast members have returned for the fifth instalment with Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, and David Arquette who again are haunted by a serial killer in a Ghostface mask.
