SDP wins two senatorial seats, PDP one in Nasarawa

Nasarawa State Social Democratic Party (SDP) candidates have won the Western and Northern senatorial seats in Saturday’s National Assembly elections.

While Ahmed Wadada won Western senatorial seat, Godiya Akwashiki defeated his All Progressives Congress (APC) rival, Danladi Envuluanza.

Wadada polled 96,488 votes to defeat Ahmed Tukur as declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).


Similarly, the seating Senator, Akwashiki, won by polling 44,471 votes, while his APC rival scored 32,058 votes.

Also, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) senatorial candidate, Onawo Ogoshi, defeated incumbent Senator Tanko Almakura of APC in Southern Senatorial zone.

Ogoshi polled a total of 95,840 votes to defeat his APC rival, who scored 81,309 votes.
