Senator Davou emerges as minority leader, Olarere is deputy

The Senate on Tuesday named Senator Mwadkwon Simon Davou (PDP, Plateau North) as Minority Leader and Oyewumi Kamorudeen Olarere (PDP Osun West) as Deputy Minority Leader.

The 10th Senate has seven minority political parties made up of PDP with 36 senators, Labour Party with eight, Social Democratic Party with two, New Nigerian Peoples Party with two, Young Progressives Party with one, and the All Progressives Grand Alliance with one.

The President of the Senate Godswill Akpabio who announced the minority leadership after receiving communication from the minority parties announced Principal Officers from Minority Parties includes Mwadkwon Simon Davou (PDP, Plateau North) as Minority Leader.

Others are Oyewumi Kamorudeen Olarere (PDP Osun West) as Deputy Minority Leader, Darlington Nwokeocha (LP, Abia Central) as Minority Whip and Rufai Hanga (NNPP Kano Central) as the Deputy Minority Whip.
