Senator gives scholarship, tractors, patrol vehicles to constituents

The joy of Taraba South Constituency residents knew no bound, as the Senator representing the zone, Emmanuel Bwacha, doled out scholarship opportunities, tractors and patrol vehicles to members of his constituency.

Beneficiaries, which included farmers and security operatives operating in the zone, commended the senator for the gesture.

With tears of joy streaming down their faces, parents of the over 300 beneficiaries of the scholarship scheme agreed that the burden of sourcing for resources that would enable them sponsor their children and wards to tertiary institutions had been taken off their shoulders.

Lauding the efforts of the initiator of the scheme, they urged other elected politicians and public officials from the zone to tread same path, by assisting the less privileged ones, some of whom they said have been rendered incapacitated, following the various unrest that erupted in the zone.

Bwacha promised to continue to support his constituents, disclosing the scheme was initiated in 2003, when he was first elected as the member representing Takum, Ussa and Donga Federal Constituency.

He warned politicians to desist from stealing public funds meant to positively change the lives of the people, irrespective of their political, religious and tribal affiliations.
