Senator urges support for Obaseki

Senator representing Edo South Senatorial District, Matthew Urhoghide, has called on leaders of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oredo council to support Governor Godwin Obaseki’s government towards driving development across the state.

Urhoghide who made the call at a meeting with local government party leaders in his house on Saturday, also sued for peace among members.

The senator urged the party faithful to see Obaseki’s government as a PDP government.

He cited Chapter 3, Part 1, 10 (5) and (6) of the party’s Constitution, which says: ‘No member of the party shall publicly make critical comments about the policies of any government elected on the platform of the party.

“And no member of the party (PDP) shall align with other parties or groups to undermine the party or any of its elected governments.”

Urhoghide described as anti-party, any violations of the section of the party’s constitution and urged members to close ranks to be formidable at all times.
