Sierra Leone to battle Nigeria in opening duel

Sierra Leone will open their campaign in the T20 tournament against host, Nigeria, in the early match of the day on March 29, 2022 before they lock horns with Ghana the following day.

On Thursday, March 31, the team will come up against Rwanda in their first cross-border tournament for the year 2022.

Sierra Leone’s Cricket Association is currently preparing the Women T20 squad to face Nigeria, Ghana, Rwanda and Cameroun in the Nigeria Cricket Federation (NCF) Women’s T20 International Tournament scheduled for March 27 to April 4, 2022 at the Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS) Cricket Oval in Lagos, Nigeria.

After a short break on April 1, The Ladies Patriots will resume action at the refurbished Tafawa Balewa Square when they take on Cameroun in their final match of the tournament, which will run in 20-over format.

Teams are expected to arrive in Lagos on March 27, while practice session and meetings will be the following day.

The Sierra Leone women squad  is currently intensifying training ahead of the tournament, which the Cricket Association is poised to use to change the narrative after their disappointing performance at the Botswana ICC Africa Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifier in September 2021.
