Six KDU students bag UN fellowship

Kola Daisi University, Ibadan

Six students of Kola Daisi University (KDU), Ibadan, have emerged as fellows of the United Nations Millennium Fellowship.

The students, namely Anuoluwapo Soyege, Moyinoluwa Oni-falohun, Adefolajuwon Akerele, Toyosi Ojofeyitimi, Emmanuel Olufayo and Oluchi Obinta, were mentored by Ag. Director, Academic Planning Unit, Dr Sekinat Kola-Aderoju and Dr Archibong-Okonneh, of the Department of History and Diplomatic Studies of the university.

The Registrar, Mr Haruna Adetu, congratulated the fellows and charged them to strive for more laurels, noting that the sky is not their limit, but their starting point for success.

The Fellowship, which is in partnership with the United Nations Academic Impact (UNAI) is a platform for students to make an impact by creating and adding value to their communities.

In a statement by the principal public relations officer of the university, Margaret Innocent, about 44,000 young leaders applied to join the class of 2023 from 3,000 universities in 170 nations.

KDU is one of the 260 campuses selected worldwide. It received about nine per cent of the total applications from 38 countries.
