Boke Technology launches SDG Hero Project in Nigeria to empower students for sustainable change

Boke Technology Co. Ltd, a global leader in digital entertainment, launched its transformative SDG Hero Project, in Lagos, Nigeria, empowering 5,000 students across the state to address all 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This innovative corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative, powered by Boke’s pioneering “Game+” model, uses an engaging board game to inspire young minds to create solutions for a sustainable future.

The SDG Hero board game, designed by Boke Technology, positions students as “heroes” tackling global sustainability challenges. Through collaborative gameplay, participants develop creative solutions, such as community-driven initiatives or innovative sustainability strategies, fostering critical thinking and leadership skills.

“This is more than a game, it’s a movement to empower youth to drive global change,” said Yuqin Lin, International Director of Boke’s SDG Hero Project. “Boke’s fusion of gaming and social impact equips the next generation to build a sustainable world.”

With a growing portfolio that includes projects for Cocacola, Google, OPay, and to mention a few, Bracken Media continues to position itself at the forefront of purposeful creative solutions.
Mahmood Oyewo, Managing Director of Bracken Media Solutions, shared:

“At Bracken, we believe creativity is a tool for lasting change. Partnering with Boke on this initiative allows us to shape how young people see and solve global challenges. Our commitment is clear, to foster and empower the next generation and tell stories that drive impact.”

The project aligns with Nigeria’s Agenda 2050 and Lagos State’s 2023 Voluntary Local Review, positioning Lagos as a hub for sustainability innovation. The program has trained over 1,000 gamified education mentors (known as “Game Masters”) and engaged more than 60,000 youth participants globally.

Real Impact, a Nigeria-based NGO dedicated to transforming public education in alignment with SDG 4 – Quality Education, has partnered with BOKE and Bracken to effectively execute and expand its outreach initiatives. Firmly believing that education is a fundamental right, not a privilege, Real Impact is devoted to closing the learning gap in underserved communities through inclusive, high-impact educational programs.

To buttress her claim, Karen Abah, Executive Director of The Real Impact, emphasized the transformative power of education in the SDG Hero Project: “At The Real Impact, we believe education extends far beyond the classroom. This initiative empowers students with the tools to think critically and creatively, inspiring them to become agents of change. We are thrilled to champion this project and witness young Nigerians turn global goals into impactful local action.”

In partnership with organizations like UNESCO and the UN Global Compact, SDG Hero is also actively working in regions such as Africa and Southeast Asia to co-develop locally relevant educational resources with grassroots NGOs.
