CAF CL: Bet9ja backs Remo Stars to shine, commits to nurturing local talents

Bet9ja has thrown its weight behind Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) defending champions, Remo Stars, to emerge as the second Nigerian side to win the prestigious CAF Champions League trophy after Enyimba International FC

Speaking in Lagos on Monday, Senior Marketing Manager at Bet9ja, Jennifer Olatunji
revealed that the company’s partnership with the club is in line with its vision to nurture local talent and keep sporting excellence rooted at home.

It recalled that it unveiled its headline sponsorship of reigning NPFL champions, Remo Stars. The Ikenne-based club, which rose from a grassroots academy to lifting the 2024/25 league trophy, has become a symbol of youth-driven football success in Nigeria.

The firm noted that with its support, Remo Stars are setting their sights on defending their title and joining Enyimba in the history books of CAF Champions League winners.

“Football is the heart of many young people in Nigeria. Our investment in Remo Stars is a way of investing in local talent and building a world-class future for Nigerian football and its rising stars,” Senior Marketing Manager at Bet9ja, Jennifer Olatunji said.

According to Olatunji, the company’s commitment does not end with football. Bet9ja has also thrown its weight behind 20-year-old heavyweight boxing prodigy, Moses Itauma, widely tipped as a future world champion. Like Remo Stars, Itauma represents Nigeria’s fearless youth, determined to make a global impact while keeping roots at home.

The dual partnerships, the firm said, reflect its philosophy of creating systems and structures that allow Nigerian athletes to thrive locally.

“For decades, the nation’s sporting story has been defined by talent lost too early to foreign leagues, crumbling clubs, and underdeveloped infrastructure.

“By investing in both football and boxing, Bet9ja hopes to flip that narrative, ensuring young Nigerians don’t just chase opportunities abroad but find the resources, facilities, and belief to succeed on home soil,” the company said.
