Bayelsa Queens arrive Abidjan, hopeful of qualification

Nigerian champions, Bayelsa Queens, arrived in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire, yesterday, sure of picking the CAF Women’s Champions League from the WAFU B play-off, which begins tomorrow.
 
The Prosperity Girls, as the team is also known, arrived in Abidjan today and will proceed to Yamoussoukro, where the qualifiers will hold.
 
Led by Coach Whyte Ogbonda, the team is expected to have one training session today before moving to the venue of the tournament.
 
Bayelsa Queens are drawn in Group B alongside Police Ladies of Ghana, ASKO of Togo and Sam Nelly of the Benin Republic.
 
Coach Ogbonda has been working on the team’s skills, stamina and tactical understanding in preparation for the battle for the zone’s lone ticket to the CAF Women’s Champions League.
 
The tournament will run from August 23 to September 5, 2025.
 
Bayelsa Queens will play against Police Ladies of Ghana in their first game on August 24.
