Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue has approved the dissolution of the board and management of Lobi Stars Football Club, Makurdi with immediate effect.
This is contained in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Tersoo Kula, and made available to newsmen in Makurdi on Thursday.
Alia said that the decision was to reposition the club for greater efficiency, accountability, and better performance in both the Nigeria Premier Football League and other competitions.
He directed all members of the sacked management to hand over all official documents, assets, and responsibilities to the Commissioner for Youth, Sports and Creativity, Mr Tiza Imojime.
The governor expressed appreciation to the outgoing board and management for their services to the club and the state.
He assured that a new management structure would soon be announced to drive the next phase of the club’s growth and competitiveness.
Alia reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to sports development as a vital tool for youth engagement, talent discovery, and social cohesion in the state.
