Napoli has declined a formal €70 million bid submitted by Turkish club Galatasaray for Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, according to a report by transfer analyst Fabrizio Romano.
Romano disclosed on Friday that the offer was accompanied by supporting bank documentation to guarantee payment. Despite the financial assurances, Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis was said to have turned down the offer, maintaining that the club would only accept a minimum of €75 million for the forward.
“Understand Napoli have now rejected new formal proposal sent by Galatasaray today for Victor Osimhen. Galatasaray offered €70m today with bank documents attached for payment guarantees… Napoli president De Laurentiis wants €75m guaranteed and he has rejected,” Romano posted on X.
The development comes amid continued speculation about Osimhen’s future, with the forward linked to a number of European and Middle Eastern clubs following uncertainty over his contract situation. Napoli’s stance suggests they are holding out either for a higher bid or a move aligned with existing discussions reportedly involving clubs from the Saudi Pro League.
Osimhen, who played a central role in Napoli’s 2022–2023 Serie A title win, signed a contract extension in December 2023 that reportedly includes a €120 million release clause. However, his representatives have not publicly confirmed whether the clause is still binding in the current window.
Napoli’s rejection of Galatasaray’s latest bid signals the club’s determination to hold firm on its valuation, even as the player’s future remains unresolved weeks into the summer transfer window.
