Nigerian forward Fashanu shines in Brazil, eyes Eagles call-up

Nigerian forward, Fashanu Michael Ifeoluwa is optimistic of getting a call-up to the Super Eagles, following his recent exploit in the Brazilian league.

Fash11, as he is fondly called by his admirers, announced his readiness by netting seven goals and creating two assists to inspire his side, Fortaleza to league victory in the Brazil under-20 division.

Enroute to this, he played for Dynamic Plus Soccer Academy, a Nigerian based football club known for producing rising stars who once hoisted the county’s flag at the global stage.

His impact in the club drew the attention of foreign scouts who watched him play seven months ago at a scouting program organized by ATJ Sports in conjunction with Trivella Brazil who later handled his move to Fortaleza FC.

With Super Eagles’ coach, Eric Chelle pondering on his provisional squad to execute next month’s World Cup qualification playoff and the 2025 African Cup of Nations (AFCON), the pacy forward has said that he has what it takes to done the green and white jersey.

He added that he will not relent in his effort to emerge as the cynosure of all eyes if given a chance to prove his worth before millions of Nigerians.

“Winning a tournament like this in a football-loving country, Brazil is a dream come through. I never knew this could come so fast, within my short spell with the club,” Fashanu said.

“This recent success will gear me for more as I look forward to also extend this impressive form of mine to my fatherland, Nigeria if given a chance to wear the green and white colour.”
