Libya plans early arrival to unsettle Super Eagles in Uyo

Determined to cause an upset when they meet the Super Eagles in a Morocco 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, Libya’s national football team is scheduled to touch down in Abuja, on October 7 to begin the final phase of their preparations for the crucial double-header tie.

The match against the Super Eagles, who currently lead the group with four points, is scheduled for October 11, but the Libyans plan an early arrival to allow the players to acclimatise to the conditions in Nigeria, and fine-tune their strategies to ensure they are well-prepared for the high-stake match.

According to reports, the team, currently in camp in Tripoli, has been undergoing rigorous training sessions to build momentum ahead of what will be a decisive clash.

Upon their arrival in Abuja, the squad will make their way to Uyo to get ready for the game billed for the Akwa Ibom  International Stadium The technical crew, led by Coach Nasser Al-Hadhiri, is leaving no stone unturned, with an intense focus on reclaiming lost ground in Group D.

After a difficult start to their qualifying campaign, drawing at home with Rwanda and losing to the Benin Republic away, Libya is determined to make a statement against group leaders, Nigeria.

With the return leg scheduled for October 15 in Tripoli, the first leg in Uyo is seen as pivotal for Libya’s hopes of staying in contention for AFCON 2025.
