Nigerian cyclist Emmiwuks gets epic escort from Ghanaian bikers in Accra

US bound Nigerian cyclist Emmiwuks who arrived Ghana two days ago through the Aflao border was on Saturday received by ecstatic bikers and escorted into Accra, the Ghanaian capital.

Saturday makes it the 13th day since Emmiwuks set off from Lagos, Nigeria on June 30. He passed the night on Friday in his mobile tent at the Tsopoli police station located on the Aflao/ Tema highway.

The cyclist wrote on his social media handles, “as I drew closer to Accra, something truly beautiful happened, a team of Ghanaian professional cyclists I’ve never met before were already waiting for me on the road.

“They’ve been silently following my journey online, and today, they showed up in real life to ride with me into the heart of Ghana’s capital. This is more than support, this is love, unity, and brotherhood across borders.

“Africa is indeed one family. Thank you, my Ghanaian brothers. Let’s ride with purpose. Let’s ride with hope”.

The 25 year old Emmiwuks who said that his inspiration for embarking on the adventure is to create awareness for the displaced and vulnerable children in Africa wrote when he arrived Ghana two days ago that “I’m currently at Sege, that’s about 50km to Tema, 90km to Accra. no turning back. This mission is bigger than me. For the displaced, for the orphans, we ride with purpose. God no go shame us”.
