Stakeholders want quality education, more enlightenment on human rights 

The National President of Association for Childhood Education Practitioners (ACEP), Hajia lslamiat Oshodi, has emphasised that “Education is a fundamental human right that is important for sustainable development.

While speaking in Lagos, she said education could curbed inequalities, injustice, racism, and other forms of discrimination, adding that ACEP  was committed to eradicating all inhibiting factors mitigating against the growth and development of the Nigerian child and the actualisation to the goals of the United Nations.


Oshodi said the quality of education varied for children around the world, with millions still deprived of this basic human right.

Country Representative of United Nations Children Emergency Fund (UNESCO), represented by Ms Oyebukola Tomori Adeleye advised the children  on the  importance of educaton and benefits.

Also speaking, Board member, Michael Alayande University, Prof Asiwaju Adedibu Aderemi Abass, re-emphasised that inclusive and equitable quality education included could be achieved through human rights.

Wife of former Lagos State governor,   Dame Abimbola Fashola, represented by Mrs Rebecca Oluwaponmile, said: “ Education is also facing many challenges and opportunities in the 21st Century. We live in a time of rapid and profound changes, driven by technology, globalisation and environmental issues. We need to ensure that education is inclusive, equitable, and quality for all. We need to foster lifelong learning opportunities for all, and to promote innovation and creativity in education. “

Proprietress, Great Learners Academy, Dr. Mrs Felica  Onwude, said “We are dedicated to giving our children the tools they need to reach their full potential.”
