The Bishop of Ondo Diocese Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), Right Reverend Stephen Adeniran Oni has admonished Christians to always help people around them,irrespective of creed and tribe, and also to ensure that they are at peace with God.

The Bishop said this at the funeral service of the late Chief Oludolapo Akinkugbe and Mrs Janet Oladunni Akinkugbeheld at the David and Grace Church of the Ascension, Anglican Communion, Igbo-Oja, Ondo City.

Copiously quoting Revelation 7: 9-17, Bishop Oni applauded the lateAkinkugbe’s service to humanity, saying he touched lives while he was alive.

The cleric called on the congregation to emulate the late chief’s good gesture, adding that Christians should positively impact humanity, wherever they may.

Recalled that Chief Akinkugbe who was married toJanet for almost 70 years passed on at his home in Lagos, on Monday, September 22, 2025,11 days after his wife death. He was born on December 5, 1928 while his wife was born on January 17, 1928.

Untill his death, Chief Akinkugbe was involved in the Council of All Saints School and later All Saints College in Ibadan and Lagos. A committed Christian, Chief Akinkugbe made service to the church a constant part of his life. He was alsoa member of the Synod of the Diocese of Ondo (Anglican Communion) and Deputy Lay President, Diocesan Economic Adviser, St Stephen’s Cathedral, Ondo, and Chairman Board of Trustees, All Saints Church Jericho, Ibadan.

In attendance were of the Most Reverend Gabriel Latunji Lasebikan; The Right Reverend A. O. Akinlalu; former Head of State, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo; former OsunState Governor, Chief OlagunsoyeOyinlola; and former governor,Ondo State, DrOlusegun Mimiko.

Others included JusticeTaiwo Obayomi Taiwo; Ayodele Akintunde; Chancellor, Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion,Henry Odein Ajumogobia;Chief Andrew Akintoye represented His Royal Majesty, the Osemawe of Ondo Kingdom.There were over 50 Bishops from Lagos, Ibadan and Ondo Dioceses, among otherguests at the event.
