Prayer of intercession is a technology in the spirit that can change anything. God is seeking for people that will stand in the gap in the place of prayer on behalf of others, nations and society at large. Nations can be saved; death can be stopped and destiny can be recovered when intercessors stand in the gap to pray. Intercession should be made for all men. Intercession may sometimes be for people who cannot stand in prayer for themselves. Jesus sets the model for believers to follow. Jesus intercedes for us and we should intercede for others (Hebrews 7:25). We should offer constant prayers for others.

It was when the church prayed for Peter that instantly the chains fell off his wrists (Acts 12:7). Intercessory prayer breaks the strong grip of the Devil over people’s lives. Intercessory prayer brings a supernatural turn around. Intercessory prayer brings healing upon the people and the nation. Intercessory prayer brings to an end satanic bondage and slavery of a person. The power of God flows through intercessory prayer to save, heal and deliver. Intercessory prayer is a call to responsibility to pray for others.

The Bible commands us to intercede for all men to come to the saving knowledge of Christ. We are to pray for revival and a great harvest of souls in nations where the gospel is hindered. We are to pray for salvation to all nations. We are to intercede for the salvation of our family members and friends. We are to pray for salvation of the people in our neighbourhood. We are to intercede on their behalf and call their names before God. We are to pray for Christians who have backslidden and ask God for their restoration. The Bible says when the righteous fall, they shall rise (Proverbs 24:16). We are to intercede for the world leaders, presidents and prime ministers and people in authority. We do warfare on their behalf and we wrestle their souls, minds and spirits from demonic control. We are to pray for the president of our countries so that they will not be under the influence of darkness and those who want to twist their minds.

Through intercession, God can touch the hearts of the world leaders to become influencers of righteousness in their nations and the world at large. Through intercession, God can separate them from wrong influences and expose them to the right influences.

Intercession is a platform to intercede for the persecuted Christians worldwide.

Intercessory prayer can deliver somebody from captivity; set someone free from danger and overturn somebody’s execution. The church, indeed, prayed for Peter while he was in prison. Acts 12:5 states that the church was earnestly praying to God for him while he was being held in jail. This prayer took place because Herod had arrested Peter and planned to bring him to trial after passover, with the intention of executing him. The church’s fervent prayers played a crucial role in Peter’s miraculous escape from prison. Death was waiting for Peter, and the church prayed to interrupt it. The enemy arose against Peter, but prayer was used to change it.

Intercession is forgetting about your own needs and lifting someone’s need before God. Let heaven hear another person’s name on your lips and let heaven be occupied not with your own prayer, but prayer for somebody. Intercede for a family member or a friend trusting God for a supernatural turn around.
