Stop badmouthing govt, depend on god, Akinola urges Nigerians at CGN conference

ARCHBISHOP Taiwo Akinola has called on Nigerians to be patient with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu led-administration, saying the current economic woes will soon give way for prosperity if Nigerians can look up to God and to stop bad-mouthing the nation.

He also urged the Federal Government to pursue genuine dia¬logue and reconciliation with all stakeholders in River State to bring a lasting peace to the state and region, instead of the state of emergen¬cy imposed on the state.

The Bishop said this at a briefing held at the Champion Peace Cathedral of Rhema Chris¬tian Church and Towers, Temidire, Sango-Ota, Ogun State, to announce the commencement of Christ Global Network (CGN) 2025 New Wine Fire conference with the theme, “Show Me Your Glory,” taken from Exodus 33:12-23.

The one-day event held, last week, in the Church premises, according Akinola was a divine moment for revival, transformation and na¬tional healing.
He said: “The New Wine Fire Conference is a key initiative of Christ Global Network (CGN). It was designed to foster spiritual renewal, evangelism and to empower believers. The 2025 edition aimed to create an atmosphere conducive to experiencing God’s presence and power, in line with the theme “Show Me Your Glory.”

Attracting attendees from different states across Nigeria and beyond, the conference was broken into session to allow for effective handling of the various topics.

Bishop Joshua Nissi handling a session titled, “Wisdom For Lasting Impact In Life And Ministries,” outlined four key principles for achieving lasting impact on lives. These principles include, continuous mentorship and leadership development; regularly examining the performance of one’s church and ministry.

establishing procedures and policies for identifying and developing potential leaders to ensure continuity; and to embark on continuous improvement, as exemplified in Luke 2:46-47.

Archbishop Akinola, the convener, ministering on “Lord, Please Show Me Your Glory,” called church leaders and members to shun pride and to abide in genuine fellowship, saying pride hinders one from hearing and receiving from God.

He enjoined church leaders to be focused on their divine assignments, adding that fulfilling God’s purpose requires calling for fresh uction that would make God reveal His glory to the people.
