National Vice Chairman, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), South West Zone, Kamoroudeen Ajisafe, and Lagos State PDP Chairman, Philip Aivoji, yesterday, urged the party’s 2023 gubernatorial candidate in Lagos, Abdul-Azeez Adediran (aka Jandor), to respect the party’s constitution, its leaders and elders, and conduct himself in manners that will not drag the party’s name in the mud.

  
The duo reiterated the position of the National Working Committee (NWC), the South West zone and the Board of Trustees (BoT), which at different fora mandated that any aggrieved member should use the internal mechanism of resolving issues, instead of engaging the media.
  
Ajisafe and Aivoji, in separate chats with The Guardian, responded to the ongoing media war between the former Deputy National Chairman, Bode George, and Jandor.
 
They said: “Jandor and or whoever in his category should henceforth stop granting any media interview, issuing a statement or making comment in respect of any grouse or internal crisis within the party and Lagos chapter.”

They should rather seek an internal mechanism for resolving issues.” Ajisafe said he was glad his leadership would take every necessary step to ensure discipline in PDP.
 
“I cannot imagine Jandor having a public altercation with George, just as I will appeal to the former Military Administrator of Ondo State to cease responding to whatever Jandor said. He should use his fatherly wisdom to report him at every given time,” he said. Aovoji said he was not surprised at what Jandor turned into.
 
“How do I control someone who hardly listens to anybody? When we give a ticket to a stranger, this is part of the consequences. But I know that the PDP cannot die. I only appeal to all the leaders and elders of our party to continue with the principle upon which the founding fathers of PDP built the party.”
 
Jandor and George had been having running battles since the party came third behind the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Labour Party (LP) in the last gubernatorial election in Lagos, recording less than six per cent of votes cast in the state. It was a record poor performance by the PDP in Lagos since 1999, and the party’s candidate blamed the failure on George and other leaders’ anti-party activities, whereas the other faction blamed the misfortune on Jandor’s selfish and ulterior motives.
