Integrating financing mechanisms to achieve universal health coverage

The quest for Universal Health Coverage (UHC) has led to the introduction of several financing mechanisms. Until now, the World Health Organisation (WHO) recommends the use of a pre-paid mechanism that will ensure that the patient does not pay for care out-of-pocket.
