The Guardian newspaper was established in February 1983. The new tabloid precipitated fundamental revolution in the form and content of the archetypal Nigerian newspaper. Alexander Uruemu Ibru, founder of The Guardian, envisioned a newspaper that would rank among the very best anywhere in the world.
