Intensifying efforts to curb depression, anxiety, suicidal behaviour in Nigeria
Recent studies indicate that there are 800,000 suicide deaths yearly, and 76 per cent are from Low and Middle-Income Countries (LMIC) like Nigeria. However, current evidence into suicide prevention is largely based on high-income countries (HIC) and suggests more than 80 per cent of suicidal behaviour is linked to psychiatric disorders.
