Tajiri unveils platform to tackle business challenges in Africa

An economic integration organisation, Tajiri, has created an ecosystem platform to facilitate the strategies that would grow businesses in Africa.

According to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the organisation, Abiola Kabiru, Tajiri is a digitally driven socio-economic empowerment project focused on empowering the youths and creating jobs for graduates and artisans in Africa.

“Tajiri was born out of the mind to address limitations in the African economy whereby the majority of Africa’s small businesses suffered cross border commerce constraint and financial exclusion among others,” he said.

He explained that Tajiri, a Swahili language, which means ‘wealth’ or ‘prosperity’ is on a mission to unlock the African economic population by building an ecosystem that would facilitate the possibility to do businesses with one another.

He said: “The disintegrated Nigerian economy has limited the possibility of doing businesses with one another.

So, we want to use Tajiri to explore the decentralised blockchain technology in order to facilitate business. The focus is to create an Africa open economy, a decentralised ecosystem such that it would be possible to do businesses across border, making payments or Remita and exchange values easily.”

Kabiru, however, urged the leaders in Africa to step up their games in creating a unifying currency for Africa.

In his remarks, Project Committee, Dr. Michael Adeyemi noted that Africans, especially the youths could benefit from an app called ‘createtaj.’

He said: “Createtaj has been developed to enable the youths to do their businesses or upload their content for prospective customers.”
