Taylor Swift Sets Records With Four Albums In Top 10 And Most No.1s For A Female Artist

In a groundbreaking achievement, Taylor Swift has shattered multiple records on the US album chart, solidifying her position as one of the most successful artists in history.

The 33-year-old superstar now holds the distinction of being the first woman and only the third artist ever to have four albums simultaneously in the Top 10.

Leading the charge is Swift’s latest album, “Speak Now (Taylor’s Version),” which has catapulted to the number one spot on the Billboard 200, amassing an impressive 716,000 album-equivalent units. This exceptional figure accounts for a combination of physical sales, digital sales, and streaming data, making it the largest sales week for any album in 2023. Remarkably, this achievement surpasses the success of her previous album, “Midnights,” which dominated the charts last October.

Joining “Speak Now (Taylor’s Version)” in the prestigious Top 10 are three other Swift albums: “Midnights” at No. 5, “Lover” at No. 7, and “Folklore” at No. 10. This extraordinary feat not only marks the first time since the inception of charts in 1963 that a female artist has achieved such a milestone but also makes Swift the first living act to accomplish this since 1966 when US trumpeter Herb Alpert attained a similar record.

Taylor Swift now shares the elite company of Prince, being the only two artists to place at least four titles in the Top 10 simultaneously. Prince achieved this feat in 2016, shortly after his passing, with five albums soaring into the Top 10.

But the accolades don’t end there for Taylor Swift. With her latest chart-topping achievement, she has surpassed the legendary Barbra Streisand to become the female artist with the most No.1 albums in history. Previously tied at 11 each, Swift now stands alone at the top of this historic record.

Swift’s unparalleled success extends beyond the current milestone. In fact, four of the five biggest album debuts of the last five years now belong to her, with Adele’s 2021 album “30” securing the fourth spot, just ahead of Swift’s “Speak Now (Taylor’s Version).”

Taylor Swift’s reign in the music industry shows no signs of slowing down, and her continued dominance on the charts cements her status as one of the most influential and accomplished artists of all time.
