LG, Ecobank partner to drive smart living accessibility in Nigeria

As Nigeria continues to embrace technology-driven lifestyles, LG Electronics Nigeria and Ecobank Nigeria have entered into a strategic partnership aimed at expanding access to smart home innovations through flexible and affordable financing.

The collaboration was unveiled at the LG Smart TV AI Press Conference, held in Lagos, where both organisations reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing the everyday lives of Nigerians through technology and financial inclusion.

The event, anchored by Christopher Woghiren, featured a welcome address by Omoboye Odu and a keynote presentation by Paul Mba, Head of Corporate Marketing, LG Electronics West Africa.

Mba described the partnership as a forward-thinking initiative designed to bridge the gap between innovation and affordability. According to him, LG’s new line of AI Smart TVs represents “the next generation of home entertainment,” where artificial intelligence personalises every aspect of viewing.

He noted that the brand’s commitment to innovation has always been centred around simplifying lives through technology. “Our AI-powered products are designed to learn, adapt, and evolve with users, creating an environment where entertainment and convenience go hand in hand,” he said.

In her remarks, Head, Distribution Channels and Sales, Ecobank Nigeria, Dr Adeola Ogunyemi, highlighted the bank’s mission to make premium technology attainable for all income levels.

“We believe technology should not be reserved for a privileged few,” she said. “Through our Easy Monthly Instalment scheme, we are giving Nigerians the opportunity to own AI-powered LG devices and experience modern living without financial pressure. This partnership is about empowerment, accessibility, and convenience.”

She added that the collaboration aligns with Ecobank’s broader vision of promoting financial inclusion and supporting the digital transformation of households and businesses across Africa.

A highlight of the event was the product presentation by Olugbenga Ogunbayo, Head Trainer, LG Electronics, who introduced attendees to LG’s latest AI TV lineup, including the OLED, QNED, NanoCell, and UHD models.

Ogunbayo described the new series as “a perfect blend of intelligence and entertainment,” noting that it showcases LG’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of innovation while prioritising user comfort and personalisation.

A panel discussion moderated by the host featured leading voices in technology and innovation, including Harrison Yakubu, Tech Expert; Olabisi Elvis Oshorun, Founder of SmartCribs Technologies; and Omotayo Otitoju, Filmmaker, Musician, and Creative Technologist.
