Teen Choice Awards goes pan-continental

The Teen Choice Africa 2024, a festival and awards ceremony celebrating Africa’s exceptional youth, would for the first time be a pan African event, expanding beyond Nigeria.

The event, which would take place in August in Lagos, is aimed at showcasing and empowering young talent from across the continent.

This year, Lagos State, known for its commitment to promoting tourism and cultural diversity, is taking the lead as the first city in Africa to host the Teen Choice Awards (Africa Season Edition).

For over eight years, the Nigerian Teen Choice Award has been a prominent platform for celebrating and empowering young talent and creative in Nigeria. Now, we are transforming our scope to cover the entire Africa continent with the introduction of the Africa Season Edition of Teen Choice Award. The event aims to provide a stage where extraordinary young minds from every corner of Africa can shine.

“We are thrilled to bring Teen Choice Awards back to the forefront, shining a spotlight on the incredible young people who are shaping the future of creativity, entrepreneurship, entertainment, innovation, and culture across Africa,” said Founder of Teen Choice Africa and CEO NGC Limited, Nelson Williams.

The Teen Choice Awards (Africa Season Edition) will feature an impactful and fun-filled festival with talent exhibitions, mentorship sessions, and workshops, while the awards ceremony will recognize remarkable young changemakers across various categories.

The event aims to empower young Africans by providing them with tools and opportunities to succeed, recognise their achievements, and reward outstanding young entrepreneurs and startups with grants worth over $10,000. It also seeks to facilitate networking opportunities, connect young talents with industry leaders, mentors, and peers, inspire others to pursue their dreams and foster unity among African youth.

The Nigerian Teen Choice Awards, launched in 2012, has been a platform for honoring personalities who influence the teen and youth world in Nigeria.

Previous winners and attendees of the Nigerian Teen Choice Awards, which laid the foundation for Teen Choice Africa, include Davido, Burna Boy, Lil Kesh, Diana Eneje, Yomi Casual, Alex Ekubo, Tobi Bakre, Young Willis, Seyi Shay, Emmanuella, and many others, showcasing the immense talent and potential of Nigerian youth.
